Product Description

GYTC8S Self-supporting Fig 8 Aerial Outdoor Fiber Cable description
The GYTC8S type optical cable places the 250um optical fiber in a loose sleeve made of high modulus plastic, and the sleeve is filled with waterproof filler. A steel wire is located in the center as a metal reinforcement member, and the sleeve (filler) is twisted around the reinforcement member to form a compact round optical cable core. The gap between the sleeves is filled with waterproof filler. The outer side is covered with a plastic-coated steel strip (PSP) lengthwise. This part of the optical cable is supported by a stranded wire and is covered with a PE sheath with a figure-8 structure.
Features of GYTC8S Self-supporting Fig 8 Aerial Outdoor Fiber Cable
- Good mechanical and temperature properties
-
The stranded wire has high tensile strength, meeting self-supporting requirements and reducing installation costs
- Special casing fillers ensure critical protection for optical fibers
- Good extrusion resistance and flexibility
- PSP enhanced moisture resistance
- Steel wire as a central reinforcing member

Opticlink have a total of 8pieces production lines, include FTTH drop cable, Central loose cable and stranded fiber cable production , modernized dust-free workshops, and high-performance processing equipment. From raw material procurement, to finished product processing, to product quality testing, to packaging and export, we have a full range of production lines. The following are some of the actual photos of the workshop

1. What is a Fig-8 fiber optic cable and why choose GYTC8S?
GYTC8S is a Fig-8 self-supporting cable combining the fiber optic core and steel messenger wire in one structure. This design makes it ideal for aerial installation on utility poles, simplifying deployment and reducing cost.
2. What’s the role of the steel messenger wire in this cable?
The galvanized steel messenger wire provides mechanical support, allowing the cable to be directly suspended between poles without the need for external support hardware. It’s especially suitable for spans of 50–150 meters.
3. Is GYTC8S resistant to environmental challenges?
Yes. It features a stranded loose tube structure, water-blocking gel, PE outer sheath, and is armored for UV, moisture, and mechanical resistance, making it suitable for outdoor use in varied climates.
4. What fiber types and capacities are available?
GYTC8S supports G.652D and G.655 single-mode fibers, typically with 2 to 144 cores, which meets both access and distribution network requirements.
5. Where is this cable most commonly used?
This cable is widely used in:
FTTx last-mile deployments
Rural or suburban broadband rollouts
Telecom or utility pole-mounted installations
Low-cost aerial fiber routes
